Plumbco
Every commercial plumber in the Valley says they'll show up fast. Fewer of them mean it enough to drive over on Easter morning before church.
One customer found that out the hard way, in the best way. Their words, not ours: "We had a pipe burst Easter morning. After calling around with no luck, Cameron answered and jumped in his truck on the way. Extremely grateful for the fast response and willingness to come to our rescue 8am on Easter. Thank you!!"
Plumbco has been solving commercial plumbing problems in the Valley since 1989, when Norm Winters started the company. Jeffrey Logg joined in '95, Ernie Reynolds in 2007, and the two of them took over after Norm passed. Jeff runs commercial plumbing now; Ernie runs fire protection. Together they keep the pipes and sprinklers working for names you already know: Stemilt, McDougall & Sons, Blue Bird, Star Ranch, Columbia Fruit, plus plenty of commercial buildings.
They only do commercial work. Plumbing, fire protection, backflow testing. Nothing residential, nothing half-attention. If your building needs someone who actually picks up the phone, contact Plumbco.

North Baker Avenue Standoff: Resolved By One Cigarette, Zero Shots Fired

East Wenatchee Police surrounded a home in the 1000 block of North Baker Avenue Sunday evening to serve a wanted man with three outstanding misdemeanor warrants. The man held out for about an hour. Then police offered him one last cigarette before booking, and he walked out and surrendered on the spot.
No one was hurt. No names were released. Nicotine remains, somehow, more persuasive than a search warrant.

Chrisand Lane House Fire Rescues 3 Dogs, Displaces Family

A two-story home in the 500 block of Chrisand Lane in Wenatchee caught fire Tuesday morning. Crews arrived around 7:50 a.m. to find flames on the back exterior, spreading up through the attic until part of the roof gave way.
Firefighters pulled three dogs out safely. No people were hurt, and the fire didn't reach neighboring homes. Fire Chief Jon Perry said the damage is severe enough that the house may be a total loss. Investigators are looking at wiring near an exterior animal shelter as a possible cause.

East Wenatchee Brushfire Gets Put Out, Un-Put Out, Then Properly Put Out

A grass fire broke out at Kirby Billingsley Hydro Park Friday evening, burning about 1,000 square feet and climbing into a tree. Crews knocked it down around 7 p.m. and left. An hour later, it was back.
The second trip finished the job. No structures were damaged and nobody was hurt. Fire officials say it was almost certainly human-caused, which in Valley translation means someone's regrettable choices are still under investigation.

Cherry Vista Subdivision Trades 7 Acres of Actual Cherries for 30 Future Mortgages

Western Ranch Buildings LLC, owned by Corey and Tanya Davis, has applied to turn a roughly 7-acre former orchard near Sixth Street SE and South Lyle Avenue into 30 single-family lots. The company bought the land in 2015 for $184,000 and is calling the project Cherry Vista.
Lots run from 6,000 to 10,709 square feet, aimed at middle-income buyers. If approved, construction could start as early as this winter, with homes on the market by fall 2027.

Eastmont Avenue Finally Reopens After Months of Patience-Testing Construction

Eastmont Avenue is set to fully reopen to traffic near the end of October, as the East Wenatchee Water District wraps up a water-main upgrade meant to boost reservoir capacity for future growth. The project pushed phased closures and detours through the corridor for much of 2026.

A Single Typo Shouldn’t Cost You a Sale

A shopper types “running shos” and gets nothing back. Another types “red waterprof trail runners under $150” and hits the same wall. Both knew what they wanted.
Traditional site search relies on exact keyword matching, leaving shoppers stranded at “0 results found” screens.
Gladly understands what shoppers mean, typos and all. Instead of a dead end, they get products that fit what they asked for and a conversation that keeps them shopping.
BITE OF THE WEEK
Solving the daily "I don't care, what do you want?" debate in 30 seconds flat.
The Pick: Mole Doña Marina — chicken in a traditional Oaxacan mole, served with rice, beans, and homemade corn tortillas
The Joint: Restaurante Dona Marina (East Wenatchee, Valley Mall Pkwy)
The Verdict: This is the dish that gets to carry the restaurant's own name, and it earns it. Dark, slow-built mole over tender chicken, with tortillas made in-house instead of pulled from a bag. If you're only going to order one thing here, order the thing named after the owner.
Pro Tip: Ask for extra tortillas. You'll want more than they give you for mopping up the mole.
